London 29 June 2016: CP+B London Chief Creative Officer Dave Buonaguidi has hired Cheil UK creative directors Dave Newbold and Jim Eyre, as the agency continues to grow and boost its creative firepower.
The CDs on Samsung at Cheil since 2014, Newbold and Eyre are the creative duo behind the recent ‘Dolphin Whisperer’ work for the brand, and the GS5 ice bucket challenge - which amassed four million hits in four days with no media spend.
Buonaguidi said: “Dave and Jim are perfect for us. They are real creatives, smart, modern and entrepreneurial, and they really get ideas, culture and tech. I know they will embrace the unique culture here, and make us and what we create even better.”
Eyre and Newbold first joined forces at Profero, both moving to Iris in 2013 to follow the Mini account at the client’s request. They’re the duo that oversaw two car launches as well as creating Mini’s first UK brand campaign in eight years, localising the ‘NOT NORMAL’ global positioning, and celebrating British Mini fans’ relationship with the iconic car.
Newbold began his career at agencies including Burkitt DDB, DDB London, Farm and Profero. Jim Eyre, an architect by training, created iconic window displays and shop designs globally for Paul Smith in his former professional life.
