Most people don’t watch ads, they “skip” them. In this campaign, that’s exactly what we wanted

Issue:
Cut through the travel advertising clutter and establish Hotels.com as the obvious choice for booking your next trip.
Tension:
Booking a hotel is more of an anxious challenge than a holiday buzz.

Question:
How can we use Captain Obvious to remind people that Hotels.com is the Obvious Choice?

Solution:
We played with the digital media space and created a fun ways to bring it to life. From an ad you could ‘literally skip’ to and and ad blocker that literally blocked ads, to a live stream that was exactly that.

The effect:
Ad Blocker received 66% engagement. Our Skipping ad won a MediaWeek award, receiving 400,000 impressions and 200,000 ‘ad skips’.
